Em nhận được thư của bạn Jane báo cho em biết là Jane sẽ đến Hà Nội học tiếng Việt ở một trường đại học và bạn ấy muốn biết là bạn ấy phải chuẩn bị những gì. Em hãy viết thư trả lời bạn ấy với những nội dung chính như sau:
cảm ơn bạn đã gửi thư và rất vui mừng vì bạn sẽ sang thăm việt Nam
Nếu bạn đến học ở Việt Nam thì vấn đề đầu tiên bạn gặp phải là ngôn ngữ. Do đó, trước khi sang đây, bạn nên ghi tên (enroll) vào học khoá Tiếng Việt cấp tốc(intensive courses)
Vần đề thứ hai bạn gặp phải là khó khăn khi bạn phải sống ở một nền văn hoá khác lạ, xa gia đình và bạn bè. Đôi khi bạn sẽ cảm thấy rất cô đơn.(lonely)
Về chỗ ở, bạn đừng lo. Bạn có thể sống ở một căn hộ trong khu ký túc xá (boarding house) của trường hoặc bạn có thể thuê nhà chung với các bạn khác (share a house). Giá thuê ở đây rất phải chăng, chỉ khoảng 600USD/ tháng/ một nhà gồm 4 phòng ngủ.
Về thực phẩm ư? Tôi nghĩ rằng bạn sẽ rất thích các món ăn ở đây vì có rất nhiều loại vừa ngon vừa rẻ.
Về quần áo, bạn đừng nên đem nhiều vì quần áo ở Việt Nam rất rẻ và đẹp. Ơû đây bạn có thể ăn mặc bình thường và thoải mái (dress/casually). Hơn nữa, thời tiết ở Việt Nam không nóng qúa cũng không lạnh quá.
Mặc dù có nhiều vấn đề như đã đề cập ở trên (above-mentioned), nhưng bạn đừng lo vì luôn có những người bạn học và nhiều người khác giúp đỡ bạn.
Cuối cùng bạn nói mong sớm được gặp Jane ở Hà Nội

Dear Jane,
Thank you very much for your letter. I am glad that you are going to study Vietnamese in Hanoi
If you come to study in Vietnam, the first problem you have is the language. Therefore, before you come here, you should enroll in Vietnamese intensive courses
The second problem you expected to meet is the difficult of living in strange culture, far away from home, family and friends. Sometimes you feel very lonely
Don’t worry about accommodation. You can live in a flat of a school boarding house or share a house with your friends. The rent is very reasonable (only about US $600 per month for a house with four bedrooms)
What about food? I think you are going to enjoy dishes here because there are a lot of dishes which are not only cheap but also very delicious
About clothes, don’t carry too many garments with you because they are very nice and cheap here. You can dress casually and comfortably in Vietnam. Moreover, it is neither too hot nor too cold here
Although there will be above-mentioned problems, there will always be fellow students and others (who will be) ready to help you
