(Skills 2)
I. Objectives
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to listen to get information about the sports/ games people play and write a paragraph about the sport/game they like. 
1. Knowledge, Skills, Attitude: 
a. Knowledge: 
- Vocabulary: lexical items related to sports and games.
- Grammar: - Past simple tense and present simple tense
b. Skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing.
c. Attitude: hard, concentrated and active.

1. Teacher: text book, extra board, cassette tape and real objects.

1. Warm up (5’)

2. Knowledge formation activities (36’)

Contents
T: Plays the recording once only. Asks Ss to listen and say who the passages are about. 
Ss: Listen to the tape then answer who the passages are about.
Listening:
1. Listen to the passages. Who are they about?
* Key:
 They are Hai, Alice, Bill and Trung. 
T: Plays the recording again. While Ss listen, they have to write down T or F.
Ss: Listen and write their answers. Then compare with a partner.
T: Calls on some Ss to give their answers.
Ss: Give the answer true or false.
T: Gives feedback - Corrects.
2. Listen to the passages again. Then write True (T) or False (F) for each sentence. 
*Key:

T: Plays the recording the third time for Ss to fill in the blanks. Ss can share their answers before listening to the recording a final time to check.

3. Listen to the passages again. Fill in each blank then complete these sentences in part 3.

T: First brainstorms with Ss for the necessary language. Allows Ss to refer to the reading and other sections for useful language. Notes interesting expressions and language on the board. 
T: Tells Ss to write a draft first, Ss should use the cues and their own ideas. 
Ss: Actually write a paragraph of about 80 - 120 words about the sport/ game they like, covering as many ideas as possible. 
T: Tells Ss to pay special attention to punctuation, structural elements, linking words ... 
T: Writes the suggestions on the the sub-board to explain Ss to write .
T: May collects some Ss' writing papers and mark them, then gives comments to the class
- Calls 2 or 3 Ss to read aloud their writing. 
- Corrects Ss’ spelling and punctuation.

4. Write about a sports/ game you like. Use your own ideas and the following as cues.
*Suggest:
- Name of the sports/ games 
- Is it a team or an individual sport/ game
- How long does it last/
- How many players are there?
- Does it need any equipment?

Talk about favourite sport:
The sports are not only just the exercises but also the hobbies. Our health will be better and more 
* Suggestions :
My favourite sport is basketball. I started playing it when I was studying at my high school. And the reasons I like basketball are that playing basketball because it helps me feel more healthier and more self-confident

- Ask Ss to do the matching individually- then practise saying the words and locate the place on the map with a partner.

4. Match the words in the blue box to the names of the places in the yellow box.

T: Models the game with the whole class. One thinks of a country” Viet Nam”. Ss will make 5 questions in order to find out the person who has the most correct answers
-Asks Ss to play the game in groups of five. And record the correct answers from each group member to find the winner
- Asks Ss to present in front of the class.
- Gives feedback.
