5. Homework (2’) I. Play a game: “ Brainstorming”

“Now, there are 3 places that people like to go on a

vacation, namely DESERT, BEACH, MOUNTAIN.

Please brainstorm all the adjectives to describe

those places and the things you need to bring when

traveling there.”

- Introduce the new lesson:

“Everyone, you have shown me that your

vocabulary is quite rich, but now, let’s make it even

richer by learning some more new words, alright?”

II. Pre-teach vocabulary:

- Teacher uses different techniques to teach vocab (situation, realia)

* Vocabulary:

- Check the vocab by asking Ss to match the items with the pictures ( Ex1/ p50)

2. Put the items in order:

- Remind ss that in the introduction they thought about useful things for a beach, desert, mountain.

-Tell ss they are going on a beach holiday and they need to order the items from very useful (No.1) and not useful (No.8)

- Allow pairs to work together to form their list

- Ask pairs to join other groups and compare their lists

- Encourage ss to give reasons for their choices

3. Pronunciation:

- Help Ss get the difference of two sounds /t/ and /st/

- Let Ss listen and number the words they hear ( Ex4/p50)

* Listen and repeat:

- Ask Ss to listen and repeat the words in Ex 4/ p50

- Ask SS to listen and repeat the sentences in Ex 5/ p50

+ Divide the class into 2 teams ( TEAM /t/, TEAM /st/

+ Each team repeats the sentence if the sentence contains the words with their sounds

- Let Ss find more words with ending sound /t/, /st/. Then make the sentences with the words

- Ask Ss to:

 + Practise saying the words that have sounds /t/

and /st/.

+ Write a passage about what you prepare for

your holiday at the beach.

- Take part in the game in groups
