Chú ý –các tính từ, trạng từ có 2 âm tiết mà tận cùng là:-y, -ow, -er, -le, -et thì coi như tính từ ngắn,ở cấp so sánh hơn ta thêm + ER. -Ví dụ: happy à happier narrow à narrower quiet à quieter : yên tĩnh
 clever à cleverer : thông minh simple à simpler: đơn giản
