 + Organize an exhibition of festivals in Viet Nam.

 + Clearly understand traditional culture in Vietnam.

 + Self-study, respect and promote traditional values in the context of the modern society.

B. Knowledge:

- Understand traditional culture in Vietnam.

- Develop competencies se lf study problem solving and cosmetic.

- Be aware of skills and communication, cooperation, presentation and ICT application.

- Respect traditional culture respect in Vietnam and some foreign countries.

C. Skills: - Practicing skills: draw, collecting information, presenting pictures and singing.

 - Group work, cooperation, and leading a task.

TOPIC: FESTIVALS IN VIET NAM
I. OBJECTIVES:
 	A. Aim: 
- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to:
 	+ Organize an exhibition of festivals in Viet Nam.
	+ Clearly understand traditional culture in Vietnam.
	+ Self-study, respect and promote traditional values in the context of the modern society.
B. Knowledge: 
- Understand traditional culture in Vietnam.
- Develop competencies se lf study problem solving and cosmetic.
- Be aware of skills and communication, cooperation, presentation and ICT application.
- Respect traditional culture respect in Vietnam and some foreign countries.
C. Skills: - Practicing skills: draw, collecting information, presenting pictures and singing.
	- Group work, cooperation, and leading a task. 
II. METHOD AND TECHNIQUE:
A. Method: Presentation, group work, communication, analyzing.
B. Technique: Brainstorm, project.
	III. NEW LESSON:
PEROD 41: 
PREPARATION OF TEACHER AND STUDENTS
 	1. Teacher:
	- Gives students the ask; identify the content, find out the information.
	 - Asks students to prepare materials and way to do the implementation. 
	- Divides the class into groups
	- Asks student to practice lecturing, drawing, 
	- Gets ready to help students if necessary.
	 	- Checks students’ preparation and gets their product.
 2. Students:
 Group 1: 
- Prepare Huong pagoda festival in Viet Nam, students need to cover: 
. Vocabularies, grammar throughout the Unit 5 - English 8
. Find out the time, place, and activities related festivals.
. Find out the information about the activities on special days, public festivals,
. Origination of the history, who do they worship, on what occasions.
. Especially about great festivals such as Tet holiday, party, 
. Prepare presentation from projector
Group 2:
. To search the information about Tet holiday.
. Do the task the same as the group 1.
. Note to be creative to design some samples
Group 3: 
. Prepare Mid-Autumn festival 
. Do the task the same as the group 1.
Group 4: 
. To search the information about Hung King temple festival.
. Do the task the same as the group 1.
. In group to create some samples
. Practise an English song
PERIOD 42:
 PRESENTATION OF STUDENTS’ PRODUCT	
I. Procedure:
	 - Greeting
	- Give the reason and content of the lesson. 
II. New lesson:
Introduction:
	As in Vietnam, each people in the world have their own culture which is expressed by a lot of items. Especially, festival is one of items that expresses deeply about the culture and background of each people. That is the reason why we need our students to find out the national festivals in order to help students understand more about some of countries’ culture. In addition, students will have a chance to use their own English for presenting problems and to affirmate themselves their knowledge through the lesson. 
2. Procedure of the lesson:
	1. Warm up: T asks ss to play a game: Crosswords
	2. Presentation:
	- Asks a student to conduct the laptop to help all the groups. 
	- Students present their products in turn of groups.
	 - The others observe, listen and make questions to find out more information.
	- Students present their English song during the lesson.	
	- Teacher comments and appropriate the good group, may be encourage all.
 - In this period groups 1 and 2 will be the first presenters
	3. Production:
	“Can you guess what the festivals are?”
T uses some other traditional dress and asks ss to guess.
T gets feedback and give explains if necessary.
4. Homework:
- Asks groups 3, 4 continue their presentation for the next period
- Asks Ss to find out more information about the other countries’ festivals
