B. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to use the present progressive tense to talk about what is happening now.
C. Ways of working: Students work in teams, in groups, in pairs, individually and T-WC.
D. Materials: Text books, plan lesson, projector, laptop, speaker, pictures
E. Anticipated problems: Some weak students may get it difficult in their own writing the actions in the “Kim’s Game”.

Aims: Help students use the present progressive tense and know new words and structures to talk about the actions which are happening now. B. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to use the present progressive tense to talk about what is happening now. C. Procedures: Contents Teacher’s activities Students’ activities I. Ognanisation: - Greet, introduce the observers. - Greet the teachers. II. Warm up: Clean the house Brush my teeth Go to school Do my homework Listen to music Play football Have breakfast Watch television Wash my face - Divide students into 3 teams and give them teams’ names – simple names: A, B, C. - Give the students 30 seconds to have a look and remember the actions in Kim’s game. - Choose 3 students from each team to go to the board and write as many actions as possible in 90 seconds. - Check their answers and choose the winner of the game. - Listen to the rules of the game. - Play a game in groups. - Check the answers with the teacher. III. New lesson: New words: - ride my bike (v): đi xe đạp. - drive my car (v): lái ô tô. - play video games (v): chơi trò chơi điện tử. - walk to school (v): đi bộ tới trường. - wait for (v): đợi Checking new words: Miming: What is the missing picture? Present part A1: Grammar: Model sentences: - She is riding a bike. - He is playing video games. - They are working to school. Form: (+) S + is/ are/ am+ V-ing + (o). (-) S + is/ are/ am + not + Ving + (o). (?) Is/ Are/ Am + S + V-ing + (o)? Yes, S + is/ are/ am. No, S + is/ are/ am + not. Wh + is/ are/ am + S + V-ing? Use: to express the action which is happening at the time you are speaking about it. Note: + ride – riding + drive – driving Little practice – add “– ing” Practice: Pictures drill: Further practice: Game: My number Teacher show the pictures on screen and elicit the new words, using “Mime”- technique. - picture and do action - picture and do action - picture and do action - picture and do action - picture and do action - Make sure that students’ notebooks and books are closed. - Stick 6 pictures on the board - Ask them to put their heads, close their eyes. - Take one picture off, ask them to open their eyes and then guess what picture is missing. - Ask students to open their books and have a look at 6 pictures in part A 1. - Play CD 2 times. - Ask students to repeat. - Show the pictures and ask the questions to elicit the model sentences. What is she doing? What is he doing? What are they doing? - Following the model sentences then set up the form. - Remind them of use, intonation and note. - Show the pictures and ask them the questions : What are you doing? What is she doing? What is he doing? What are they doing? - Ask team A to ask 2 questions using the pictures. Both B, C have to answer and then turn for team B, C to ask. - Ask students to work in pairs. (One to ask and one to answer). - Number students in each team. - Show the pictures (some of them out of this unit). - Ask the questions using the present progressive tense. - Choose the numbers. - Decide who is right and fast. - Look, repeat after the teacher. - Listen to the rules of the game. - Play the game. - Look, listen then repeat. - Have a look at the pictures and answer the questions. - Set up the form with the teacher. - Answer the teacher’s questions. - Follow the teacher’s rules. - Work in pairs. - Remember their numbers. - Listen to their numbers and stand up to answer the questions very fast. IV. Consolidation: - Stick 3 sets of pictures on the board. - Choose students who go to the board and write the answers for 4 pictures. - Check their answers. - Show six pictures on the slide. - Ask students to listen 2 times and number the pictures - Check their answers. - Go to the board and write their answers V. Homework: - Learn by heart the new words and the Present Progressive tense (+) S + is/ are/ am+ V-ing + (o). (-) S + is/ are/ am + not + Ving +(o). (?) Is/ Are/ Am + S + V-ing + (o)? Yes, S + is/ are/ am. No, S + is/ are/ am + not. Wh + is/ are/ am + S + V-ing? - Do the exercise AI- Vocabulary: in the workbook at page 41 - Workbook. - Prepare for the next lesson A4-6: + Write some names of job. + Make a list means of transport. - Show the homework on the screen and elicit some ways of doing them. - Open the workbooks, look at Exercise
