- have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively participate in all classroom activities, the awareness of loving natural wonders of Vietnam

A. Warm up: (5’)
a) Objective: The objective of this activity is to help Ss relax and to arouse students' interest.
b) Content: Chatting

Where are they? 3.What are they famous for? ... - Tell natural wonders of Vietnam they have known or visited. * Possible answers: 1. Ha Long Bay is Viet Nam's most beautiful natural wonder. It's famous for many amazing islands and caves. - Or: Vietnam's 10 best natural wonders. 1. Ha Long Bay 2. Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park 3. Son Doong Cave 4. Phu Quoc Island 5. Ba Be National Park, Ba Na Hill, .... B. New lesson (35’) Activities 1: New words (15’) a) Objective: To enrich Ss’ vocabulary about the topic b) Content: New words on page 68 c) Products: Ss learn vocabulary about natural wonders of Vietnam d) Competence: Communication, collaboration, presentation, pronunciation, creativity e) Organization of the activity: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities * Presentation: a. Write the letters in the boxes. Listen and repeat. - Pre - teach new words (using pictures) - Ask Ss to practice the new words. - Check Ss’ understanding * What and Where (Teacher - whole class) - Write the words on the board, put one word in each circle. - Ask students to repeat chorally the English words. - Rub out the word one by one. - When all the circles are empty, ask students to repeat again; make sure the students can remember the words in their circles. - Call on some students to go on the board and write the words in correct circles again. * Practice - Ask students to write the letters in the boxes. - Give feedback and correct the answers. - Play the audio CD2 - 36 b. Ex: You can go swimming and build sandcastles at the beach. - Work in pairs or groups of 3 - 4 to discuss. - Talk about what activities they can do at each place individually. Activity 2: Listening (10’) a) Objective: To listen for gist/ details b) Content: Listen and choose the place to visit. Listen and number. c) Products: The useful information of some natural wonders in Vietnam, to improve listening comprehension d) Competence: Collaboration, communication, analytical and synthesizing skills e) Organization of the activity: Teacher's activities Students' activities a. Listen to Tom talking about places to visit. These places are the best for people who like : doing sports/ taking photos. * Pre - listening - Set the scene and introduce the listening task. * While listening: (for general comprehension) - Play the audio (CD2 - 37) once. - Play the audio again and check the answer as a whole class. (Play part of the text again, pausing after particular remarks). b. Now, listen and number. - Have Ss look at the sentences - Play the audio (CD2 - 37) twice. - Play the audio again and check their answer as a whole class. (Play part of the text again, pausing after particular remarks.) * Post listening (for faster students) - Encourage Ss to talk about a place to visit - Pay attention to the listening task individually. - Listen the audio and answer the question individually. - Share their answers with their partners. - Give the answer * Answer: doing sports. (for diving/ surfing/ hiking/ skiing) - Look at the sentences individually. - Listen and number individually - Share their answers with the partners. * Answer keys: - You can go there by train or bus. =>2 - You should go there between November and April. => 1 - You should go there between December and January. => 4 - You can go there by car or bus. =>3 - Work in pairs to to talk about a place too visit. Activity 3: Useful Language (5’) a) Objective: To use useful language to give advice. b) Content: Useful language on page 68 c) Products: Ss can use the useful language to give advice about visiting natural wonders d) Competence: Collaboration, communication, e) Organization of the activity: Teacher's activities Students' activities a.Listen then practice: - Have Ss look at the useful language box. - Play the audio CD 2 - 38. - Have them practice the useful language - Encourage Ss to make their own dialogue in pairs. - Listen to the useful language individually. - Work in pairs to role play. - Demonstrate the activity in front of the class. C. Consolidation (3’) - Vocabulary about natural wonders - Useful language to give advice D. Homework - Learn new words by heart. - Practise talking what activities you can do at highland/ beach/ mountain/ waterfall/ bay/ forest/ island. - Practise useful language. - Do exercise new words on page 48 in workbook. - Listen and fill in the blanks 0n page 48 in the workbook. - Prepare for the next lesson: Unit 8-Lesson 3 (page 69) - Find out some natural wonders of Vietnam and activities.
