Procedures Teacher & students’ activities Content I/ Warm up: * Pre – pictures: capable creation - Prepare some photos or magazine cut -out about common activities in the past ( maybe twenty or thirty years ago) and at the present. - Show them to Ss and let them group the pictures into the past or the present. - Ask for an examination of the groupings. => Key common activities. Past activities Present activities A C F G B D E H II/ Newlesson. * Pre- teaching. - Teacher use different techniques to teach vocabulary (situation, realia) - Follow the seven steps of teaching vocabulary - Repeat in chorus and individually - Copy all the words * Checking vocab: R.O.R. * Activity 1: * Set the scence: Ask Ss to look at the title of the conversation and the picture. - Ask them some Qs: ? What do you think the people in the conversation are talking about? ? How do you understand the title “Preserving the past” ? - Play the recording and have Ss follow along. - Ss work independently. - Encourage them to answer the Qs without looking back the conversation. - Allow Ss to share answers. - Check their answers as a class. - Ss work independently to find expressions and read the context where they appear to make sure that they understand the meanings of the expression correctly. - Ss do the matching and share. - Correct the answers as a class. - Ss work independently to find the most suitable response to each item - Ss can exchange their answers. - T checks as a class and explains the answers where necessary. * Activity 2. - Make sure Ss undersatand the meaning words/phrases . - T calls ask them to give some examples to show that they understand the phrase “ Technological changes”. - Ss work independently to complete the sentences. - Have Ss share their answer in pairs. - Elicit the answers from the whole class. * Activity 3. - T gives the pictures and example of women in Hue. - Ask Ss look and read them. - Work independently. - T explains. III/ Consolidation. - Ss work in small groups to come up with as many past events and practices in their area as possible. - Give groups a time limit about 5 minus - Have them present the list they have made to the class. - Decide if these practices were specific to their region or neighborhood or were also practised elsewhere. ? Summary all the lesson. IV- Homework. - Present about the different events in the past and at the present. -Write new words then learn them by heart. - Do exercise in workbook -Prepare Unit 4 : A closer Look 1.
