 I.Warm- up :

 - Greeting.

 - Chatting :

 - Teacher introduces himself and gets some students to introduce themselves.

- Ask some questions to lead in before the lesson :

 (?) Where did you study last year ?

 (?) Where do you study now ? ( in a new school )

- T writes the title of the unit : My new school

 (?) Are you happy to study in a new school ?

 II.Presentation :

 1, Dialogue presentation: (P10,11)

a. Set the scence :

- T introduces the picture of three characters .

 (?) What is Phong doing ?

 (?) Who are Vy and Duy ?

- T says : It is "A special day" for three students .

 (?) What is "A special day" in vietnamese ?

 (?) Why is a special day for Phong, Vy and Duy ? We are going to know through the dialogue.

 - Là chương trình tiếng Anh được biên soạn tiếp theo chương trình tiếng Anh ở bậc tiểu học.
 - Quan tâm đến 4 kỹ năng nghe, nói, đọc, viết. Trong đó chú trọng phát triển 2 kỹ năng: nghe, nói. (Kiểm tra thường xuyên chủ yếu dành cho kỹ năng nói).
 - Vào cuối năm học, học sinh cần đạt trình độ tương đương cấp độ A2 của khung tham chiếu châu Âu về ngôn ngữ (giai đoạn 1).

Tập trung nghe giảng, nghiêm túc làm theo các yêu cầu của thầy, cô.
Hăng hái phát biểu ý kiến xây dựng bài.
 - Luyện tập nói tiếng Anh với thầy, với bạn bè, tận dụng mọi cơ hội có thể để tập nói tiếng Anh. Nói đúng trọng âm, ngữ điệu.
Nắm vững các vấn đề ngữ pháp đã học, các cấu trúc câu. Ghi chép đầy đủ, chính xác.

Ôn lại bài học ngay khi có tiết học ở lớp.
Dựa vào các cấu trúc và các ngữ liệu đã học để luyện nói tiếng Anh cùng bạn.
Làm đầy đủ bài tập trong sách bài tập. Tìm đọc thêm các loại sách tham khảo nếu có thể.
Thường xuyên học, củng cố và mở rộng vốn từ của mình.

3. Present grammar:
a. Present simple tense:
 (?) Are the verbs refer to what Duy is doing now or what he does every day ? ( They are about what he does every day )
- Explain the use of simple present tense.
 (?) Look at Remember P9 and tell me the form of present simple tense.
b. Present continuous tense (4 P10)
- Ask them to listen to " getting started " again and underline the present continuous form
 Ex: is knocking, is having, are wearing
(?) Are the verbs talk about what they are doing now or what they do every day?
(They are about what they are doing at speaking time )
- Explain the use of present continuous form.
 (?) Look at Remember P9 and tell me the form of present continuous tense.
 (?) What are the differences between the two tenses?
 - Something often happens or is fixed: the present simple
 - Something is happening now: the present continuous.
III.Practice :
1. Identify mistakes (2 P9)
- Have them refer to the interview, underline the mistake and write correct sentences.
- Get some students to write on the board.

2.Make questions (3 P9)
- Ask Ss to work in pairs. Take turns to ask questions and give answers.

3. Give the correct verb forms (5 P10) 
- Have them study the example in part 5 P10 and give the correct form of the verbs in brackets.
- Get them to repeat the verb forms in each sentence then read the whole sentence correctly.

- Ask Ss to give the rule and use of the present continuous themselves. Let them study the grammar box.

- Allow Ss to write more questions on a piece of paper and share them with the class.

II. Reading activity:
1. Pre – reading:
a. Lead – in : Ask Ss some questions.
